Born and raised in Venice, Florida. I grew up on boats and have operated and maintained my own boats as well as many others for people through the years. I got my captains license in 2000 at the age of 18. Then began to captain a 36' Hatteras sportfishing boat that I had previously been the 1st mate on for 3 years. I have continued to fish here in Venice as well as the East coast and the Bahamas. through all these years of experience with boats I learned the importance of the maintenance and upkeep of your vessel. I currently own/operate my own 32' Cape Horn Center console I charter- Raised Here charters.
Raised Here Boatwatch maintains your boat when you can't. Whether you are out of town or just too busy to keep up with your boat, we can help. Once every two weeks we will come to your boat to start and run the engines, check that your pumps and other components are operating properly, complete an overall inspection and give it a quick rinse to prevent dirt and salt build up. After we have completed our service we take pictures, give you a report of your boats condition including any issues if found that need to be addressed. giving you peace of mind that your vessel is well taken care of and will be ready to go for your next day out on the water.
Starting your boats motor regularly is essential for its health and longevity.
Here are some reasons why:
Lubrication and Preventing Build-Up:
When you start the motor, it helps distribute oil and lubricate internal parts like the crankshaft area and pistons.
Avoiding Corrosion:
Gasoline boat engines should be started once every two weeks. Gasoline can create water, which leads to corrosion.
Battery Maintenance:
Boats that are not being looked after are more likely to become victim of theft, sinking and issues due to storms and large tidal changes. Whether you keep your boat in the water, on a lift or on a trailer- if your property is unattended these changes can turn into a serious problem. While we can never guarantee to prevent anything from ever happening, the chances your boat stays safe is dramatically increased if your boat is being regularly checked on.
Not regularly operating your boat makes it a great home for rats, racoons, insects, birds, spiders and other unwanted passengers that can cause damage to upholstery, wiring, and hull as well as being startling or dangerous to passengers when found unexpectedly.
I have operated boats my whole life . Licensed USCG captain since 2000. I currently own and operate a 32' Center console but have operated boats of all sizes. instruction on basic boat handling, anchoring and most important of all docking.
I have been fishing my whole life predominantly bottom fishing out of Venice FL inlet. I also spent spent 7 yrs in the Bahamas fishing for Marlin and other pelagic fish. I have a broad knowledge of fishing for many different types of fish and would be happy to share what i know with you.
